Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe Gains Lead Scriptwriter, Whose Credits Include Mirage and Valhalla

Despite a history of leaks, Ubisoft has managed to keep details about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe under wraps. Development is moving forward steadily, with recent hiring activity indicating progress. LinkedIn recently announced that Christopher Gilli has joined the team as lead scriptwriter.

I’m so excited to hear that Richard Gilli is rejoining Ubisoft Montreal as the lead scriptwriter for the new Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe! As a huge fan of the series, I’m really thrilled for him and the project. It’s awesome to know someone with his experience – he previously worked on Assassin’s Creed Origins, Valhalla, and Mirage – is back to help shape this new story. He left Ubisoft in 2023, so it’s fantastic to have him returning!

News that Benoit Richter, the director of Batman: Arkham Origins and a contributor to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, is working on the game supports Gilli’s statements. Although the publisher hasn’t announced a release date for Codename Hexe, it’s believed to be coming after support for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has finished.

We might finally get an announcement this year if things go well. For now, though, the rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed 4, called Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, hasn’t been officially revealed. Fans are so eager for news that even when Ubisoft re-posted old music, people thought it meant an announcement was coming – but that turned out not to be true.

Only time will tell what’s next, but they have another unconfirmed game scheduled to launch by March 31, 2026. In the meantime, players can look forward to releases like Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, and the remastered Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
