Netflix is preparing for its next big series with Assassin’s Creed, and a live-action adaptation is in the works. While we’ve already learned some details about the cast and setting, Netflix has now announced the complete cast list and shared a significant update about filming. This news is sure to excite fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and build anticipation for the show.
Netflix is starting production on a new series based on Assassin’s Creed, and it could become one of their biggest hits. The show is set in Ancient Rome in 64 AD, and the cast has been announced. It includes Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Laura Marcus, Tanzyn Crawford, Zachary Hart, Claes Bang, Nabhaan Rizwan, Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris, Corrado Invernizzi, Sandra Guldberg Kampp, Youssef Kerkour, Mirren Mack, and Louis McCartney.

What Should We Expect From Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed Series?

This is the first time the series has been set in Ancient Rome. The story will center on the ongoing conflict between the Assassins and the Templars – two secret groups vying for control, as described by the game’s official summary.
This feels like a fresh start for the series, but the established characters will likely still play a role through the Animus, as they have in past games. It’s still unclear exactly how this new installment will handle that balance.
Now that the cast is complete, we’re still waiting to learn who each actor will play, including the lead Assassin. Netflix promises those details will be revealed soon. The series creators, Robert Patino and David Wiener, are both longtime fans of the franchise, and they’ve promised to deliver the exciting action and visuals fans expect, while still focusing on strong character development.
We’ve loved Assassin’s Creed ever since the first game came out in 2007. Working on this series is constantly inspiring and makes us appreciate the stories it allows us to tell,” said Wiener and Patino to Netflix. “At its heart, Assassin’s Creed isn’t just about grand adventures, action, and impressive visuals. It’s a deeply human story about people trying to find meaning in their lives, grappling with who they are, and questioning their place in the world. It explores themes of power, conflict, desire, and revenge.
Ultimately, this show celebrates the importance of connecting with others, regardless of background or time period. It also explores what happens when those bonds are lost. We’re incredibly fortunate to be working with talented teams at both Ubisoft and Netflix, and we’re dedicated to delivering a truly exceptional experience for fans worldwide.
Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones, and Matt O’Toole are executive producers on the series. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for Assassin’s Creed, but we’ll share updates as soon as we have them.
