After weeks of speculation, Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2nd. The game will cost $59.99 and offers cross-progression through Ubisoft Connect, meaning you can continue your progress on other platforms. It also includes all previously released free updates, with more on the way, and features touch-screen compatibility for things like the world map and your Hideout. You can watch the official reveal trailer below.
This update doesn’t include the new Claws of Awaji expansion, which will be released for the Switch 2 next year. That expansion adds over ten hours of gameplay, including a new region with new enemies and a new weapon: the Bo staff. If you already own the original game, you’ll get the basic Bo staff for free, and you can find more powerful versions within the Awaji region.
We’ll share more information about Assassin’s Creed Shadows soon, before it comes out for the new Switch 2 this winter. It’s available now on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can read our reviews of the main game and its expansion while you wait.
