Okay, so Atlus finally said the words – Persona 6! As a longtime Persona fan, I’ve been waiting for this since Persona 5 came out way back in 2017. They’ve been busy with Persona 5 Royal, that Persona 3 Reload remake, and a brand new game called Metaphor: ReFantazio, which were all cool, but honestly, I just wanted to know what was happening with the next big Persona title. It sounds like Atlus is trying to figure out just how hyped we all are for it, which, let me tell you, is very hyped!
Atlus recently surveyed owners of the Switch 2 version of Persona 3 Reload to gauge interest in future Persona games. The survey asked players which upcoming title they were most excited about, listing both the newly announced Persona 4 Revival remake and Persona 6. Atlus also floated the possibility of remaking the older titles Persona 1, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, which have been the subject of rumors but haven’t been officially confirmed.
A recent survey from Atlus about the future of the Persona series asked fans what they were most excited for. The top choices were Persona 6, a remake or revival of Persona 4, and either a remake or remaster of Persona 1 or Persona 2: Innocent Sin & Eternal Punishment. This marks the first time Persona 6 has been specifically mentioned as a desired future project.

Atlus has always planned to make a new main Persona game. They started discussing ideas for it soon after releasing Persona 5, thinking about how to improve the series’ gameplay. However, this is the first time Atlus has specifically mentioned “Persona 6.” It’s unclear if this means an announcement is coming soon, as they are likely currently focused on finishing Persona 4 Revival.
Most fans who responded to the Atlus survey clearly want Persona 6. Hopefully, this feedback will encourage the studio to focus on creating the next new Persona game rather than continuing to remake older titles.
Currently, there’s no confirmed release date, or even a general timeframe, for Persona 6, and it’s possible the game won’t come out on current consoles. While Persona 4 Revival also doesn’t have a release date yet, we expect to hear more details about the remake before the end of this year or early 2026.
