It shares similarities with Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon in its portrayal of an ambitious character trying to gain social status. The film also evokes the playful and somewhat scandalous style of Peter Greenaway’s The Draughtsman’s Contract in how it depicts the past, though Savage House is generally more straightforward and accessible than Greenaway’s more experimental work.
A new audio drama boxset, ‘The Death and Life of River Song’, featuring River and Rory, will include four stories. These are ‘Bog Man’ by Lizzie Hopley, ‘Life Lessons’ by Karissa Hamilton-Bannis, ‘A Most Dangerous Game’ by Robert Valentine, and ‘The Tashpa Stone’ co-written by Shai Hussain and John Dorney.
The game comes from beloved auteur Sam Lake and his studio, Finland’s Redemy Entertainment.
The show will largely be based on two of John le Carré’s spy novels: The Spy Who Came in From the Cold and A Legacy of Spies. Both books feature the popular character George Smiley and are connected to each other.
