As a huge cinema fan, I was really excited to see that three lines from the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday were revealed! It’s shaping up to be a massive comic book movie – seriously, one of the biggest ever – and it’s due to hit theaters on December 18th. From what I understand, the film will unite a bunch of different hero teams to defend the multiverse from Victor von Doom, who’s being played by Robert Downey Jr. – talk about a great villain!
The initial trailers for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday showcased memorable lines from the film’s stars. One standout moment came in the second trailer, featuring Chris Hemsworth as Thor. While walking through a field with his daughter, Love, he kneels, holds his weapon Stormbreaker, and pleads with his deceased father, Odin, to listen to his prayer for survival and to allow him to return home to his daughter.
Father, I’ve spent my life answering the call to fight, to do what’s right. But now, something unexpected has come to me: a child, a life innocent of war. Give me the strength of the gods so I can face one last battle and return home to her. I don’t want to return as a soldier, but as someone who brings peace and comfort. I want to teach her not how to fight, but how to find quiet and peace – something I never had. Please, listen to my plea.

Sir Ian McKellen, a veteran star of the film, appears in the latest trailer alongside fellow actors Sir Patrick Stewart and James Marsden. His character, Magneto, contemplates death, suggesting the important question isn’t whether you’re ready to die, but who will be there with you at the very end.
Everyone dies, that’s the only certainty in life. But instead of worrying about if you’re ready to die, the real question is who you’ve become by the time you reach the end.

The final trailer puts the focus on Letitia Wright as Shuri, who voices narration over scenes with Winston Duke’s M’Baku and Tenoch Huerta’s Namor. She explains that he has lost everyone he cares about, while she concentrates on her responsibilities and M’Baku, as the King of Wakanda, prepares his people for what comes next.
Everyone I cared about is gone. The king is focused on preparing our people for what comes next, and I have my own responsibilities to fulfill.

I was really struck by those lines – hearing them come from actors we’ve loved in the MCU for so long, or seen in previous Marvel films, just hit differently. They immediately established how incredibly high the stakes are; Doctor Doom is threatening everything, all the universes! But honestly, what got me most was realizing those were the very first words spoken in what’s already looking like a history-making movie – and it’s all based on the trailer alone!
When Will More Avengers: Doomsday Promo Material Arrive?

The first four trailers for Doomsday were mostly serious in tone, but they also included some funny moments. One such instance occurred in the fourth trailer when M’Baku and Ben Grimm met. After M’Baku announced he was the King of Wakanda, Ben jokingly offered his home address.
Fans are wondering when Marvel Studios will release another trailer for Doomsday, likely one similar in style to previous Marvel Cinematic Universe trailers. We can expect to see more details and clips from the movie in the months ahead.
Marvel is likely to offer a first glimpse of the upcoming Doomsday project around the time Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31st. Even though Sony is distributing the Spider-Man film, Marvel might use the renewed attention on the Marvel Cinematic Universe to start promoting Doomsday, which is expected to be their biggest film since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
