Avengers: Doomsday Teaser Trailer 3 Sees X-Men’s Cyclops Return

The third Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer has been released.

Marvel is currently finishing up work on Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film is expected to come out later this year, and a follow-up movie, Avengers: Secret Wars, is planned for 2027.

The initial trailer for the new Avengers movie, shown with the film Avatar: Fire and Ash, confirmed Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shortly after, it was announced that three trailers would be released, and the second one, featuring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, came out just last week.

What happens in the third Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer?

Marvel has just released another trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, and it includes a surprise return: James Marsden as Cyclops (Scott Summers). He’ll be joined by Patrick Stewart as Professor X. Marsden previously played Cyclops in several X-Men films from Fox, but hasn’t appeared in the role since a brief cameo in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The movie Avengers: Doomsday stars a large ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, alongside Marsden.

The next Avengers movie, currently titled ‘Doomsday’, is scheduled to release on December 18, 2026. Following that, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is planned for release on December 17, 2027.
