A new update on the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer is good news for MCU fans.
Marvel is currently finishing up work on Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film is expected to be released in December 2026, and another sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, will follow in 2027.
According to Collider, the first teaser trailer for the next Avengers movie will be shown before screenings of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, which releases in theaters on December 19, 2025. It’s currently unknown whether the trailer will be released online right away or if it will be exclusive to theaters for a while.
What is the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer update?
I just heard from MyTimeToShineHello, and they’ve seen the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday! They said it looks really good and that Doctor Doom is definitely a big presence in it.
While it’s still just a rumor, most people expect to see a good amount of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the upcoming teaser trailer. So far, no information has been released about the trailer’s length or which other Marvel characters might appear.
Film Threat’s Chris Gore has shared some details about the upcoming teaser trailer for Doom. He says viewers will get a substantial look at the character, and that Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal leans into the classic Universal monster archetype – specifically comparing him to the tragic and broken Phantom of the Opera. The armor isn’t just a superpower for this version of Doom, but a necessity – he needs it to function due to a scarred and broken body. On top of Doom’s scientific brilliance, the trailer also hints at the character’s mastery of magic.
