Obsidian Entertainment made a splash at the New Game+ Showcase, announcing that Avowed will be coming to PlayStation 5 on February 17th. This fantasy action RPG, which takes place in the world of Pillars of Eternity, was previously released in 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
In a recent interview, the game’s director, Gabriel Paramo, and lead artist, Dimitri Berman, shared details about the upcoming Anniversary update. Launching at the same time as the PlayStation 5 version, the update introduces New Game+, letting players start a new game while keeping their character’s overall progress. However, some things will reset, such as weapons returning to their base level.
So, the latest update throws some really interesting curveballs at you – enemies now have these modifiers that give them resistances, which definitely keeps things challenging! But it’s not just harder, there’s a ton of cool new stuff too. I’m super excited about Photo Mode – finally, I can get some awesome shots in-game. They’ve also added more character customization options, a brand new weapon type, and even new races for the Envoy. It’s great to see them keep adding to the game after launch, especially things like Arachnophobia Safe Mode and new abilities, particularly for classes that needed a boost. It feels like they’re really listening to the community!
