Although interest in Battlefield 6 has decreased since it was released, the game still has a lot planned for this year. The developers recently shared a roadmap detailing upcoming content, starting with Season 3 in May. This season will introduce Railway to Golmud, a revamped version of the popular map from Battlefield 4.
The new map is massive – four times the size of Mirak Valley! It features wider open spaces for air combat, plenty of new places to take cover, and more chances for long-distance shooting. Plus, players will be excited to see the return of the Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3, now called Cairo Bazaar. It will be released later this season and offers close-quarters combat in narrow streets and alleys.
The RedSec update introduces Solos and Ranked Play, starting with Quads and expanding to all multiplayer modes later. Season 4 launches in July and includes the long-awaited Naval Warfare mode. Players will fight on Tsuru Reefs, a brand-new map dedicated to naval battles and even larger than the Golmud map.
I’m super hyped because Wake Island is coming back! It’s always been a classic map, and this time it’s looking even better. They’re adding dynamic waves, so the ocean actually feels alive, and the aircraft carriers will have planes taking off and landing – it’s gonna be epic! Plus, there are naval base challenges with some unique rewards to earn. Both Wake Island and the new map will be tested first in Battlefield Labs, so we can all help shape how they play.
A new map is coming this fall with Season 5, but Battlefield Studios hasn’t revealed details yet. They are focusing on other improvements first, like a Server Browser with servers that stay online and customizable lobbies, a Spectator Mode, the return of Platoons, leaderboards, and proximity chat. Plus, they’re updating the popular but previously criticized maps Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City based on what players have asked for.
Battlefield 6 is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. For the newest updates and details on Season 2, including the Hunter/Prey stage, check here.
