The new game, *Battlefield 6*, launched last week and quickly became a hit, with almost 750,000 players online simultaneously on Steam. Although Electronic Arts hasn’t released official sales numbers, industry analyst Rhys Elliott estimates the game has sold over 6.5 million copies, generating more than $350 million in revenue.
Steam was the biggest driver of sales, with over 3.5 million units sold (56.7%) and more than $220 million in revenue – a result likely boosted by the 1.8 million pre-orders. PlayStation 5 followed with over 1.5 million copies sold (23.7%), and Xbox Series X/S sold over 1.2 million (19.6%).
Steam currently leads in daily players, with an average of 2.3 to 2.5 million, while PlayStation 5 sees around 1 million. Although it’s still early, *Battlefield 6* is showing promising numbers. We’ll be watching to see how EA responds to feedback and how the game evolves, especially with the launch of Season 1 on October 28th. You can find our full review for a detailed look at the game.
