Cartoon Network loves revisiting its popular shows with new series. We’ve seen several follow-ups to Adventure Time, and Regular Show is getting a spin-off called Regular Show: The Lost Tapes next month. But fans have been especially eager for a return to the world of Ben 10. While a new animated Ben 10 series hasn’t been officially announced, the creators are still developing stories for Ben Tennyson. To build excitement for his return this year, the Ben 10 reboot just released its first trailer.
Next month, Dynamite Comics will launch a new, ongoing Ben 10 comic book series. Instead of following the existing storyline from the Cartoon Network shows, the creators are starting fresh with a brand new adventure. The comic will reimagine Ben Tennyson’s origin story and his first encounter with the Omnitrix. The creative team behind Ben 10, known as Man of Action, is building this new universe, with writer Joe Casey leading the project. Casey is a long-time contributor to the franchise and has also written popular comics like Uncanny X-Men, Spider-Man, Superman, G.I. Joe, and Incredible Hulk. Check out the first trailer below.
Ben 10’s Return

Along with the trailer, writer Joe Casey explained that he and the original creators of Ben 10 are aiming to create a definitive version of the series for both longtime fans and newcomers. They see this comic book as a major project and promise to deliver everything fans want, drawing on all previous versions of the show without limitations. Casey has stated this will be the most complete Ben 10 experience possible. Given the popularity of DC’s “Absolute” edition books, it’s a natural fit for Ben 10 to adopt a similar, high-quality presentation.
Although this new comic book isn’t leading to a new animated series, one of the creators of Ben 10 still hopes to see a cartoon revival. Duncan Rouleau has previously expressed his desire to return to the world of Ben Tennyson and create a story featuring a very different version of the character. He specifically mentioned wanting to create a special episode centered around Ben 1000, the adult future version of Ben who appeared in the original Cartoon Network series.
