Berserk Hypes Its Next Big Release

For many years, the anime series “Berserk” has held a special place in the hearts of fans due to its unique appeal. This gritty franchise, which first emerged in the 1980s, follows the journey of Guts, Griffith, and Casca as they confront monsters and betrayal within their dark world. Even after the unfortunate death of creator Kentaro Miura, the manga continues with contributions from Kouji Mori and the artists at Studio Gaga. In the recent chapters of the manga, the Black Swordsman embarks on a battle against his inner demons. Exciting news about the next volume of “Berserk” has been shared, detailing the latest adventures of our heroes in their harsh world.

The 34th volume of the Berserk manga will be released in Japan on August 29th. This volume will contain several recent chapters from its creative team, along with a unique addition – a special figurine of Nosferatu Zodd, a formidable antagonist to the Black Swordsman. Previously announced, but worth mentioning again, is that Young Animal has unveiled the cover for this upcoming compilation. It showcases Guts in his Berserker armor, bound in chains, which fittingly reflects the current events in the story. The events depicted are a result of Guts’ encounter with the Kushan Empire and the siege that ensued in the Eastern Nation. You can preview both the manga cover and the Zodd figurine below.

The Black Swordsman’s Wild Ride

Despite the Kushan Empire joining forces with Guts’ companions aiming to defeat Griffith permanently, Guts himself has been experiencing hardships. After the destruction of Elfhelm and Casca being abducted by Griffith, the Black Swordsman is finding it tough to rejoin the fight. In a particularly grim moment, Guts encounters certain death at the hands of the top assassin from the revamped Band of the Hawk – but is miraculously rescued just in time by Silat. Interestingly, the Kushan Empire has banished him to a cave shrouded in mystery, which promises to present formidable challenges for the tenacious protagonist due to the brand on Guts’ neck.

It appears that Berserk’s manga might be nearing its conclusion, though it hasn’t been officially announced as such. With Kushan joining Guts’ group and a potential massive conflict with Griffith and his sinister new army brewing, things seem to be heading towards an epic showdown. However, in a previous interview, Kouji Mori hinted that the manga could continue for several more years, so fans may not have to bid farewell to this dark series just yet.

Regarding the popular anime series Berserk, it seems there haven’t been any fresh updates about its comeback after the latest release, Berserk: Memorial Edition. If a new adaptation does emerge, there’s an abundance of untouched content from the manga that could be explored on screen. Here’s hoping we can enjoy more adventures with Guts and his allies in the anime realm sooner rather than later.
