Beyoncé & Nicole Kidman Reveal Dramatic Outfit Changes Inside Met Gala

Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman‘s outfit swap was practically magic.

The 2026 Met Gala co-chairs made a striking impression both outside and inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 4th, debuting a fresh new style.

Beyoncé, with Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter, made a stunning entrance at the Met Gala in a shimmering, custom nude gown by Olivier Rousteing. The dress featured a dazzling diamond skeleton design on the front. Later in the evening, she changed into a breathtaking black outfit. (You can see photos of all the stars arriving here.)

She looked radiant as she posed with co-chair Venus Williams—still sparkling in her Swarovski jewelry—and Nicole before the Temple of Dendur. She wore a stunning custom Robert Wun Couture gown with a flowing mermaid skirt and a matching veil.

Nicole Kidman started the evening wearing a stunning, red Dior gown covered in sequins and featuring feather details on the sleeves and waist. She was joined by her and ex-husband Keith Urban’s daughter, Sunday Rose, 17. Nicole also debuted a noticeably longer hairstyle, letting her blonde hair flow freely down her back.

As the party moved indoors, the Academy Award-winning actress chose a pink and white Chanel outfit, complete with feathered details on the shoulders. While the floral pattern on the skirt wasn’t particularly new for spring, the overall look was definitely glamorous enough for the Met Gala.

As the gala’s hosts, it was important for us to represent the evening’s theme, ‘Fashion Is Art,’ through our outfits. My look for the biggest night in fashion was designed to convey a meaningful message.

Oh my gosh, did you SEE her at the Met Gala?! She was absolutely breathtaking! She showed up with Andrea, of course, and honestly, I almost fainted. She wore this incredible black gown – like, a total mermaid silhouette – and it was covered in diamonds! And the necklace? Forget about it! Diamonds everywhere! I’ve been obsessed ever since.

She told Zuri Hall during Live From TopMob: Met Gala 2026 that her earrings, which read ‘six percent,’ were meant to highlight a critical issue: women receive only six percent of the research funding in the field of sports science, and she was partnering with Gatorade to raise awareness about it.

Venus added, “Can you imagine? So tonight’s a special night for that.”

The party at the Met was strictly for invited guests, but keep reading to see what happened at this incredibly exclusive event.
