Bill Gates Admits to Affairs During Apology for Jeffrey Epstein Ties

Bill Gates is attempting to clear his conscience. 

Following the release of documents by the U.S. Department of Justice that linked him to Jeffrey Epstein, Microsoft’s co-founder admitted to having an affair in the past and discussed his connection to the convicted sex offender.

Bill Gates admitted it was a mistake to associate with Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking to employees of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on February 24th, he emphasized that he never met with any of Epstein’s victims, referring to the women who were around him, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In a recent statement, Bill Gates acknowledged having an affair while married to Melinda French Gates. He has previously stated his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was solely professional and focused on securing funding for charitable causes.

Bill Gates admitted to having two affairs. He said one was with a Russian bridge player he met at bridge tournaments, and the other was with a Russian nuclear physicist he connected with through work.

The Bill Gates Foundation has confirmed that personal issues involving Bill Gates were discussed at their regular town hall meeting.

According to a statement released by the organization, Bill answered questions from foundation staff about various topics, such as the release of the Epstein files, the foundation’s AI work, and the future of global health. He responded openly and thoroughly, and acknowledged responsibility for his past actions.

Bill Gates recently acknowledged his past affair, just over six months after his ex-wife revealed in her 2025 memoir, The Next Day, that she experienced betrayals during their 27-year marriage. They share three children: Jennifer, 29, Rory, 26, and Phoebe, 23.

In an April interview with People magazine, she explained that being genuine was a priority for her. ‘You always have to be true to who you are,’ she said.

In her memoir, French spoke about her ex-husband admitting to cheating before their divorce in 2021, stating simply, “He wasn’t always faithful.”

Okay, so things got even worse. I already knew about Bill Gates and Epstein from way back in 2019 – he tried to explain it after Epstein died, but it never sat right with me. Now, with these new files coming out, seeing his name linked to all of this again… it’s just… I can’t even process it. It’s honestly harder to deal with now than it was before. French recently told NPR’s Wild Card that discussing those details is difficult for her, as it reminds her of very painful experiences during her marriage.

Nevertheless, the 61-year-old emphasized she has “moved on.”

She explained that she intentionally left the past behind and focused on the future. She’s now in a wonderful and surprising chapter of her life, and believes any lingering questions are for others – including her ex-husband – to resolve. She doesn’t feel responsible for finding the answers.
