Billie Eilish and Finneas will always stick together.
Despite spending less time together recently due to Billie’s Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, the siblings are still on good terms and don’t have any issues with each other.
I was so relieved to hear Billie address those rumors about her and Finneas! She explained in an interview with Elle that they absolutely never had a falling-out, and honestly, that doesn’t surprise me at all. She said they might have huge fights – the biggest you can imagine – but they always make up within five minutes and get right back to laughing and creating music together. It’s just how they work, and it’s so good to know their bond is that strong.
As she put it, “It’s sibling s–t. There’s nothing else in the world like sibling relationships.”
For Finneas, 28, deciding to stop touring felt like a logical progression. He explained that while he doesn’t enjoy the travel aspects of touring, he absolutely loves performing on stage.
As someone who’s seen a lot of sibling dynamics, especially in creative fields, I really connected with Billie’s experience on tour with Finneas. It wasn’t just that they barely had any personal time together while working, but I started to sense Finneas was feeling a bit sidelined. I could just feel he was capable of so much more than just being ‘the band member in the back,’ and it was like he was trapped, creatively. He never actually said it, but I picked up on that feeling – he needed more than just that role.
But this is not to say the recent distance—physical in nature only—has been easy.

Finneas shared with Elle that he really enjoys being with Billie and that he missed her a lot when she was on tour for several months last year.
Billie and Finneas have a close family relationship, but their creative connection is even stronger. Their music will always be linked together.
Billie wondered if her creative life depended on her brother, Finneas, saying, ‘I might never write another song if I didn’t have him.’ She then questioned how they could both grow and live independent lives despite their close connection.
Billie isn’t the first to discuss the honest nature of her relationship with her brother, Finneas – it’s actually a key reason why they work so well together creatively.

During a July 2025 interview, the 24-year-old explained that having a sibling allows for complete honesty. She specifically mentioned working with her brother, Finneas, and feeling comfortable being direct without fear of damaging their relationship or causing irreparable hurt feelings.
She explained that Finneas and she often say harsh things to each other, which she attributes to their close sibling bond. Despite this, they share a deep and intense love, and she believes that connection is unique and why she prefers collaborating only with him to create authentic work.

Billie Eilish’s full name is Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell. She got the unusual middle name “Pirate” because of her older brother, Finneas, who was fascinated with pirates when he was four years old, as she shared in her book, Billie Eilish: In Her Own Words.

Billie Eilish first gained recognition when she recorded her song “Ocean Eyes” at just 13 years old. She explained in a 2017 interview with KCAL in Los Angeles that the song was inspired by a boy she had a crush on. She described being captivated by his deep blue eyes, saying she felt lost whenever she looked at him.

Before she became a famous singer, Billie Eilish did voice work for movies, recording background chatter in group scenes. In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone, she recalled being in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Ramona and Beezus, and X-Men. She described it as a fun job where a group of kids would yell out lines and then enjoy snacks during breaks.

I’ve been following her career for years, and it’s amazing to see how far she’s come! What many people don’t know is that she actually worked at a stable as a kid, earning riding lessons in exchange for her help. Even with all her success, she’s gone back to riding, and she recently told Rolling Stone that it’s really about taking care of her mental well-being, more than just something she enjoys doing.

Billie Eilish was a huge Justin Bieber fan growing up. When she announced she was collaborating with him on the song “Bad Guy” in July 2019, she playfully shared a funny childhood photo on social media showing her bedroom covered in Justin Bieber posters, revealing her long-time fandom.

Oh my gosh, I just learned something so important about Billie! She actually has Tourette’s, and she didn’t really talk about it until she was on David Letterman’s Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. It breaks my heart, but she said the worst thing is when people just laugh! They think she’s doing it on purpose, like she’s trying to be funny, and just go ‘Ha!’ Can you believe it? She gets so offended, and honestly, I am too! It’s just so unfair that people would react like that. I feel so much respect for her sharing this and being so open about it.

Billie Eilish made history as the youngest person to win two Academy Awards. She and her brother, Finneas, won their first Oscar in 2022 for the song “No Time to Die” from the James Bond movie, and their second in 2024 for “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie movie.

Billie Eilish has openly discussed being attracted to women. In a 2023 interview with Variety, she explained, “I’m physically attracted to [women],” but also admitted feeling intimidated by their beauty and confidence.

She’s followed a vegan lifestyle for over ten years. In a 2021 interview with British Vogue, she explained that learning about the practices of the dairy and meat industries made it difficult to return to her previous diet. She said, “Once you know about that kind of thing and you see it, it’s really hard to go back.”
