The awards show on Sunday night had a lot of unexpected moments for fans of TV and film – and it wasn’t just who won! Highlights included Teyona Taylor’s inspiring message to young Black girls, Nikki Glaser’s tribute to Rob Reiner, and a surprising collaboration with the UFC show Heated Rivalry. Plus, Sinners actress Wunmi Mosaku announced she’s expecting a baby while walking the red carpet.
Wunmi Mosaku, known for her role in a highly acclaimed 2025 film, stunned in a vibrant yellow gown by Matthew Reisman at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. Although many believed she deserved an individual nomination – and she was one of several actresses of color overlooked – Mosaku joined her fellow cast members on stage when their movie won for its cinematic and commercial success. Hailee Steinfeld, who is pregnant with her first child with husband Josh Allen, was also among those celebrating.

Wunmi Mosaku shared exciting news with her fans through a heartfelt essay in Vogue. People were especially delighted to learn that she and a fellow actress from Sinners (seen in the photo with co-stars Delroy Lindo and Miles Caton) are both expecting babies at the same time. One fan shared their reaction, saying:
Both Stack & Smoke’s girlfriends are pregnant omg
Someone joked that Michael B. Jordan’s performance as both of the Smokestack Twins was so appealing it could lead to a lot of babies, and then wrote:
Michael made everybody husband put a baby in them😂😂😂👏🏾
Putting the humor aside, many fans expressed genuine happiness for Wunmi Mosaku and Hailee Steinfeld, and other reactions included:
- Wait Wunmi and Hailey are both pregnant at the same time 😍 – VirgoAvenghae
- Awwwww she’s glowing!! 🥹 congratulations Wunmi 💛 – phattitti
- Wunmi and Hailee being pregnant at the same time is so cute. Congrats to the Sinners stars! – ErickaSkywalkrr
- Wunmi Mosaku and Hailee Steinfeld had their baby bump moment with honorary godfathers Delroy Lindo and Miles Caton! Oh Sinners family you always come through. – ragingmotelfire
Wunmi Mosaku explained in a Vogue article that in Nigerian culture, pregnancies are usually considered private and sacred. However, with her show Sinners receiving a lot of award attention – and Mosaku delivering a standout performance in 2025 – she was encouraged to address rumors about her body before they started.
Instead of concealing her pregnancy, she decided to embrace it and share the experience with her baby. The dress she wore, as the actress explained, was a way to celebrate this special time.
My baby and I have navigated a challenging journey together, and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team. Remembering the Yoruba saying ‘Iya ni Wúrà’ – meaning ‘mother is golden’ – I immediately knew a custom yellow Matthew Reisman dress was perfect when I saw the sketches. It felt like the right dress for this special moment.
She looked radiant at the Golden Globes, and it’s wonderful to see her success both in her personal life and career. If you haven’t seen Ryan Coogler’s film Sinners, or if you’d like to watch it again and notice new details, it’s currently streaming on HBO Max.
