Brendan Fraser Prepares For Key WWII Mission In New Pressure Trailer

Brendan Fraser is in a race against time in the new trailer.

Just days before its release, Focus Features released a new trailer for Pressure. The trailer shows Fraser playing Dwight D. Eisenhower rushing to finalize plans for the D-Day invasion. Andrew Scott, as James Stagg, delivers the grim news that the invasion fleet will sail directly into two severe storms, creating intense pressure with only 72 hours left before the operation.

The film Pressure, adapted from a play by David Haig (who also wrote the screenplay), revisits the critical 72 hours before D-Day, the Allied invasion of Western Europe. This wasn’t a spontaneous decision; it was the culmination of careful consideration. The story centers on Fraser, a commander who would later become U.S. President, and RAF captain Scott as they grapple with a monumental choice: proceed with the massive and risky seaborne invasion, or delay and potentially allow Germany to win the war. Ultimately, the decision rests with Eisenhower, and the film focuses on the intense moments leading up to the invasion, making it a compelling WWII drama despite knowing the historical outcome.

Anthony Maras, the director of Hotel Mumbai, helms Pressure, a film featuring a notable cast. Kerry Condon plays Kay Summersby, an aide to Eisenhower, while Damian Lewis portrays British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery. Henry Ashton plays John Eisenhower, who served alongside his father in the war, and Con O’Neill stars as Trafford Leigh-Mallory, the air commander for the Normandy invasion. Chris Messina plays Irving Krick, a rival meteorologist to the main character. Daniel Quinn-Toyes, Toby Williams, and Max Croes also appear in supporting roles.

Pressure hits theaters May 29.
