We’re really interested in the BrokenLore series. The first game, UNFOLLOW, successfully combined scary psychological horror gameplay with a thoughtful and moving story that made us genuinely care about the main character, Anne.
I’m so excited for FOLLOW to finally come out on June 1st! But, Serafini Productions surprised us all by dropping a trailer for Ascend – it’s a completely new story with two fresh characters. It’s great to get something new from them so soon!
The story still explores themes of social media obsession and the desire for approval from others. However, the focus shifts to Ren and Yui, two determined climbers facing even greater risks as they try to scale the treacherous Elysium Tower. While they’re more capable than the previous character, Anne, the challenges they encounter are just as dangerous.
We’re really interested to see what challenges lie ahead, especially since this is the tallest building in the game’s version of Tokyo, as the team tries to make their best video yet. However, we’re not thrilled about encountering the Rokurokubi that lives there – it looks pretty scary!
BrokenLore: Ascend is coming to PC and PS5, but a release date has yet to be confirmed.
