Camille Grammer Reveals “Harsh” Text From Kelsey Grammer After Breakup

Camille Grammer is looking back at the less shiny parts of her time with Kelsey Grammer.

Following her 2011 split from Kelsey Grammer after almost 15 years of marriage – a breakup caused by his admission of an affair with Kayte Walsh – Camille Meyer remembers receiving a harsh text message from him.

Camille shared on the May 18th episode of the Humble Bragg podcast that he texted her, ‘I feel no remorse for what I am doing.’ She explained this was particularly hurtful because she was deeply in love with him and believed he felt the same way. Despite everything, she remembered having many happy years and good times during their marriage.

Camille and Kelsey have very close ties, as they share two sons, 24-year-old Mason and 21-year-old Jude. Camille also played a significant role in supporting Kelsey’s acting career.

Although I wasn’t a cast member on Frasier, I acted as a point of contact for him. He was difficult to reach directly, so if agents, lawyers, or studio executives needed to get in touch, they’d call me instead. I essentially relayed messages back and forth.

Honestly, it breaks my heart, but after everything, she and Kelsey just aren’t friends anymore. It’s so sad – they used to be so close, but now there’s just… nothing. I’ve heard they don’t even speak, and it’s awful to think about after all those years. It’s like a total falling out, and I just wish they could go back to being happy together!

I’ll never forget when Kayte spoke to Oprah back in 2012. She was so honest about how things began with her and her husband, admitting she wasn’t proud of the circumstances because he was still married at the time. She genuinely apologized and you could just feel how conflicted she was, overwhelmed with emotion. Ultimately, she explained that she simply fell in love, and she struggled to even find the words to describe it – it was just that powerful.

Kelsey admitted his marriage to Camille had ended a long time ago, but he stayed because he felt obligated to her.

Okay, so Camille just told me – and honestly, I’ve been following this for years – that she and Kelsey haven’t exchanged a single word in fourteen years! Fourteen! And get this – there’s absolutely no coparenting happening between them. None at all! It’s just…gone. I knew it was bad, but wow. It’s honestly fascinating and heartbreaking all at once.

“He called it parallel parenting,” she said, “and that’s what it was like.”

TopMob News has reached out to Kelsey’s manager for comment but has not yet heard back.

Meanwhile, Kelsey and Kayte have been married since 2011 and share four children together. 

After Kelsey and Camille separated, Kelsey and Kayte revealed they had started dating in 2009, while he was still married to Camille.

In a 2012 interview with Oprah, Kayte admitted she wasn’t happy with how her relationship began, as he was still married at the time. She expressed regret and a mix of emotions, but ultimately said she fell in love and struggled to explain it.

Kelsey admitted his marriage with Camille was over for quite some time, but he stayed because he felt obligated to her.

He also shared about his relationship with Kayte, saying, “We have a very strong love that I believe can overcome any challenge.”

Kelsey Grammer and dance instructor Doreen Alderman married in 1982 and had a daughter, Spencer Grammer, on October 9, 1983.

Kelsey and Doreen separated soon after their son, Spencer, was born, though their divorce wasn’t finalized until 1990. Kelsey has since acknowledged he wasn’t as involved a parent as he wished he’d been at that time.

In a May 2025 interview with People magazine, Kelsey admitted he hadn’t given enough attention to some of his children, particularly his oldest two. He said he’s working to rebuild those relationships now, emphasizing that a parent can always be there for their kids.

 

Spencer was married to James Hesketh, a firefighter, from 2011 until 2017. They have a son together, Emmett, who was born in October 2011.

Spencer, an actress and singer famous for her role in Greek and as the voice of Summer in Rick and Morty, achieved a long-held ambition in 2022 when she acted with Kelsey as father and daughter in The 12 Days of Christmas Eve.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Bill Skinner this July. He was a huge part of my life, really stepping in as a father figure when I was just five years old, and he remained a consistent presence even after my mom and he went their separate ways. It’s a loss I’m still processing.

Spencer shared on Instagram that his father has always been a constant presence in his life, offering unwavering support. “No matter what I needed, he was there,” Spencer wrote. He described always feeling like a cherished child, and appreciated his father’s consistent hugs, attentive listening, and belief in him.

Kandace Greer Grammer was born Feb. 15, 1992, to Kelsey and makeup artist Barrie Buckner.

The relationship didn’t last long. The Cheers actor married Leigh-Anne Csuhany in September, but he requested an annulment in 1993, and it was granted.

Greer said in a 2015 interview with Glamour that she mostly had a normal childhood, but she sometimes questioned whether people befriended her for who she was, or because of her father’s fame.

Greer, an actress who appeared on the 2024 revival of Frasier on Paramount+, mirrored her father’s behavior, despite his apology for not being present enough in the past.

In a 2014 interview with Nylon, actress Ashley Rickards recalled attending tapings of the show Frasier when she was about four years old. She knew she was at her dad’s job, but didn’t understand he was an actor on television until she was in second grade.

Greer shared that her father, a well-known actor, consistently offered her career advice, but the most valuable was to pursue acting out of genuine passion. He urged her to “act for the right reasons.” He also had a candid conversation with her about the challenges women face in Hollywood, advising her not to let the negativity affect her. Greer still finds it moving when she remembers this conversation.

 

Kelsey married Camille Donatacci in 1997, and they had a daughter, Mason Grammer, on October 24, 2001, through a surrogate mother.

When Camille’s marriage ended in 2010, it became a major topic on the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as she was one of the show’s original stars.

Model and Emerson College graduate Mason explained in 2018 that her parents’ difficult divorce strained her relationship with Kelsey, but they’ve since become close again.

She told Genlux that it was the most difficult period of her life, and it forced her to mature quickly. With her father largely absent and her mother struggling, she felt she had to take on a parental role for her younger brother. The situation created a lot of tension within the family, and her parents still aren’t speaking to each other, according to Page Six.

Camille, who has been married to David Meyer since 2018, recently had kind words for her ex, telling Page Six that he was a “really good student.” She jokingly added that he likely inherited that quality from his father, as she doesn’t always possess that level of discipline herself.

Kelsey and Camille welcomed son Jude Grammer on Aug. 28, 2004, also via surrogate.

Kelsey’s youngest son, Jude, is more reserved than his older sisters. However, Camille revealed to Page Six in 2018 that he aspires to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an actor.

She explained that her son isn’t fond of having his picture taken at the moment. He usually hides when he sees a camera, so if she manages to get a photo, she considers herself fortunate!

Just two weeks after his divorce from Camille became official, Kelsey married flight attendant Kayte Walsh on February 25, 2011.

Oh my gosh, I was SO excited when Kelsey and Camille announced they were having twins! Then, July 13, 2012, their beautiful daughter, Faith Evangeline Elisa Grammer, arrived. It was amazing… but then I read the news that they’d tragically lost their little boy shortly after the announcement. My heart just broke for them. Faith is so lucky to have them, but it’s just… heartbreaking to think about what could have been.

Five years later, Kelsey opened Faith American Brewery in upstate New York.

Kelsey Gabriel Elias Grammer was born on July 22, 2014. His father announced that he and Kayte were planning to have more children, as they were already enjoying raising two.

When his son Gabriel was just five weeks old, Kelsey, who is 25 years older than his wife Kayte, told People magazine that he and Kayte were already thinking about having another child. He said the experience had been so wonderful, he couldn’t imagine stopping now.

Allen Kelsey Grammer, the actor, also mentioned that he and his family plan to continue a tradition of using their sons’ middle names as their primary names.

Kelsey described feeling incredibly fulfilled and joyful being around young people. She said it gave her a renewed sense of hope and made her feel more alive and peaceful than ever before. She genuinely loves the experience.

Kayte and Kelsey’s family grew again on Nov. 14, 2016, with the birth of son Auden James Grammer.

And the Frasier star’s older kids were all for it.

Greer shared with Entertainment Tonight, just before her brother James was born, that her dad always dreamed of having a large family. She described her parents, Kayte and her dad, as wonderful and loving parents to Faith and Gabe, and expressed her excitement for them to welcome another child into the family.

In 2018, Mason told Closer that Kelsey has become a better father with each child. He shared that his father was very strict when he was growing up, but is now much more relaxed with his younger siblings, which Mason finds wonderful.

In an October 2025 appearance on the Pod Meets World podcast, Kelsey announced that he and Kayte had recently welcomed their fourth child, bringing their total number of children to eight.

The 70-year-old noted, “It was like three days ago, Christopher that’s just joined the family.”
