Capcom is having a fantastic year! After positive feedback on Pragmata, they’ve already released three critically acclaimed games in 2026, and it’s still only April.
Capcom has consistently delivered high-quality games for a while now, and it’s easy to start expecting that as the norm. But it’s important to remember how challenging it is to release even a single excellent game, let alone three in a row.
The publisher launched Resident Evil Requiem on February 27th, which was a highly anticipated and successful release. Shortly after, on March 13th, they surprised everyone with a very different type of game: Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
And now Pragmata joins the party, launching in just a few days at the time of writing this article.
As of now, all three games rank among the top ten highest-rated games of 2026 on Metacritic, which is a remarkable achievement.
Resi is currently ranked second with a Metascore of 89. Monster Hunter Stories is eighth with a score of 86, and Pragmata follows closely behind in ninth, also at 86, though its reviews are a little more mixed.
Capcom has released three fantastic games in just three months, and there’s a good chance they have even more exciting titles on the way!
Later in 2026, the company plans to launch the eagerly awaited expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, which has seen significant improvements. We also expect to see the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which has consistently looked fantastic in previews.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is also generating a lot of buzz, with players speculating about a potential, highly anticipated DLC. If Capcom can successfully capitalize on this renewed interest, it could be one of their most successful years yet.
