Supernatural fans are mourning a beloved cast member.
Carrie Anne Fleming, best known for playing Karen Singer on television, passed away peacefully on February 26th after battling breast cancer. She was 51 years old, according to her representative who confirmed the news to People magazine.
The actress’s representative said it was an honor to have known Carrie. They described her as a wonderful, inspiring, and kind person who will be deeply missed.
Carrie began her acting career with training at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and Kidco Theatre Dance Company in Victoria, British Columbia. As reported by Variety, she landed minor roles in films like Happy Gilmore and the 1994 TV series Viper. She really found her footing in the horror genre when she was cast in the 2005 series Masters of Horror, starring as Jennifer in the episode of the same name.
Before landing her role on Supernatural as Bobby Singer’s wife (played by Jim Beaver), Carrie had appeared in films like The Tooth Fairy and Bloodsuckers.
After Carrie passed away, Jim wrote a heartfelt remembrance of his friend, explaining how they quickly became close and formed a strong connection while working together on the fantasy show.
Jim noted that he and his new friend discovered their daughters shared the same name when they first met. In a Facebook post honoring their connection, he described it as the start of a wonderful friendship, joking that the instant connection felt like something out of a movie, and that the chemistry between them was obvious.

He described her as incredibly lively, kind, and good-natured, with a joyful laugh and a truly charming personality that was always on. He was completely smitten with her, saying he felt like he was head-over-heels in love. Luckily, she seemed to enjoy his company as well.
Jim explained that although he and Carrie developed a strong romantic connection, the distance – she lived in Canada and he in Southern California – prevented them from being together or getting married.

He explained that she affected him as deeply as only one other person ever had. He admitted that while he loved her, he wasn’t sure he would have been a good partner for her, but she was incredibly good for him.
Losing Carrie… it just ripped me apart. It felt exactly like when I lost Cecily, my first wife. I honestly thought my heart couldn’t possibly break like that again, but it did. It really did. I keep thinking about them both, these two incredible women… they’re like these brilliant lights guiding me, even now. Two flames, shining so brightly. It’s just… everything.
Besides playing a role in Supernatural, Carrie also appeared as Candy Baker in five seasons of iZombie.
She is survived by her daughter Madalyn Rose.
