Hollywood saw some big shake-ups this week with several companies being bought or merged. It looked like Netflix was going to acquire Warner Bros Discovery, but Paramount made a higher offer and is now set to buy the studio behind popular franchises like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and the DC Universe. While the deal is welcome news for some at Paramount, one animator known for a beloved Cartoon Network show publicly expressed their disapproval on social media.
Although Uncle Grandpa wasn’t as widely popular as shows like Regular Show and Adventure Time, it still ran for five seasons on television. The show even got to team up with Steven Universe in a funny crossover episode called “Say Uncle.” Now, with news that Warner Bros. and Paramount could merge, Uncle Grandpa‘s creator, Pete Browngardt, shared a striking image of his character reacting to the news. It’s clear from his post that both Pete and Uncle Grandpa aren’t happy about the possible merger.

Where to Watch Uncle Grandpa
Similar to other popular Cartoon Network shows, Uncle Grandpa was taken off HBO Max. Warner Bros. Discovery never explained why, but it’s likely due to either tax reasons or the show’s licensing being sold to a different streaming service. Good news for fans, though – you can now watch Uncle Grandpa on Hulu!
If you’re not familiar with Uncle Grandpa, here’s how Cartoon Network describes the animated series, which ran for five seasons: Uncle Grandpa is about a magical uncle and grandpa figure who travels the world in an RV, helping people with whatever they need—even if they didn’t know they had a need! He’s joined by his close friend Belly Bag, a giant flying tiger, the boastful Pizza Steve, and a dinosaur named Mr. Gus.
Many fans have been asking if Uncle Grandpa will make a comeback, and while there aren’t any definite plans for a sequel yet, revivals of animated shows are common, so it’s still possible. Fortunately, additional Uncle Grandpa stories were published as comic books by Boom Studios in 2014, with four issues and four special installments expanding the show’s universe. Even if a new series doesn’t happen, Uncle Grandpa will always be remembered as one of Cartoon Network’s most popular original creations.
