Attack on Titan’s Spiritual Successor is Getting an Anime

Created by Ayaka Katayama, the manga series Fungus And Iron began in 2021, giving it a substantial amount of story for its initial season. The story centers on a world where humanity is controlled by fungi, and follows Dante, a soldier who appears to be the only one unaffected by the mind control. After joining a resistance group called Aether, Dante sets out to liberate humankind. The series uses iron as a key weapon against the fungi and received high praise from the creator of Attack on Titan. While Hajime Isayama isn’t currently working on a new manga (that we know of), he clearly remains engaged with the manga scene. An anime studio hasn’t been announced yet, but a first look at the anime’s visuals is available below.

2025 Sequel to One of the Decade’s Best War Movies Is a Top 3 Streaming Hit (& It Has a Near-Perfect RT Score)

The Finnish action movie Sisu: Road to Revenge, a sequel to the popular 2022 film Sisu, is now available on HBO Max and is quickly becoming a hit. It’s currently the second most popular movie on the platform, closely behind Jurassic World Rebirth, according to streaming data from Flix Patrol. This is particularly impressive considering the film didn’t perform exceptionally well in theaters, earning $9.8 million worldwide with a production budget of $12.2 million. This is a decrease from the original Sisu film, which earned $14 million on a $7 million budget.

The Best Dystopian Franchise of the 2010s Is About To Leave Peacock and Stop Streaming

Among dystopian film series of the 2010s, The Hunger Games was the most successful. Based on Suzanne Collins’s novels and starring Katniss Everdeen, the series began in 2012 and has earned over $3 billion worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing franchises ever. Sadly for fans, the original four Hunger Games movies – The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay – Part 1, and Mockingjay – Part 2 – will soon be removed from Peacock, and likely from other streaming services as well.

We’re really looking forward to the new update for Assassin’s Creed Unity. Tomorrow, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 players will get a version running at a smooth 60 frames per second, which should make experiencing Arno’s adventures during the French Revolution feel brand new. If it’s similar to the update for Syndicate, it’s going to be amazing – Arno moves with incredible speed and grace as he navigates the rooftops.

Hoppers Box Office Projections Are Best for Pixar Original In 9 Years

Early numbers suggest the new Pixar film, Hoppers, will have a successful opening weekend. Deadline reports it’s expected to earn about $88 million worldwide, which would be Pixar’s best global opening for an original film since Coco in 2017. In the US, Hoppers is predicted to make $36-38 million, with another $45-50 million coming from international markets. While these numbers are promising, Pixar’s Onward earned a slightly higher $39.1 million domestically upon its release.

Dragon Ball Z Enters Politics With Recent U.S. Election

Even though North America’s big midterm elections aren’t until 2026, the primary elections are already happening. Nathan Johnson, a Democratic candidate for Attorney General, previously served as a Texas Senator. Surprisingly, before entering politics, Johnson worked as a music composer – and you might recognize his work on the popular anime series Dragon Ball Z. He created the soundtracks for the first 67 episodes of the Funimation dub, as well as several of the Dragon Ball Z movies, including The World’s Strongest, Tree of Might, Broly – Second Coming, Fusion Reborn, and Wrath of the Dragon. While Johnson hasn’t made an on-screen appearance in an anime, given his career path, it’s not entirely out of the question considering the history of the medium.

The previous issue ended with Ivy deciding to run for mayor, and this one jumps ahead to reveal she’s won. While supervillains becoming mayors isn’t new in comics, Ivy’s dedication to environmental issues will likely make her approach unique. However, this success has come at a price – her relationship with Harley has suffered.
