Now that I’ve seen Phantom Blade Zero’s structure, S-Game is making something special

I got a clear idea of what to expect at Tokyo Game Show 2025. I spent about an hour playing the latest demo of Phantom Blade Zero, getting to experience an entire level. Although some things – like certain collectibles – were adjusted for the demo and aren’t quite final, I’m starting to understand S-Game’s vision for the game. I’m now excited to play the full version when it’s released. The development team seems to be creating something genuinely remarkable.

Monster Hunter Wilds may be on hard times, but the Pokémon-inspired Monster Hunter Stories 3 seems like it’s checking every box RPG players want

I finally got around to checking out this light turn-based RPG series, and it’s pretty cool – you play as a young monstie rider, which is a nice change of pace from just being a monster hunter. It’s weird that it didn’t hit PC until last year, though, considering it first came out on the Nintendo 3DS way back in 2016. Even then, I could see it had potential, but the story felt aimed at younger audiences, and the battle system was a little too simple – basically rock-paper-scissors. It felt like they thought people who play Pokémon-like games are still just kids, and not folks like me – people in their thirties and forties who grew up with those games. I was hoping for something a little more complex, but it’s still enjoyable. You can find more info here.

However, Final Fantasy 14 players will have to wait until October 7th to receive their own Monster Hunter Wilds content. Monster Hunter Wilds: How To Unlock Omega Planetes Quest

Okay, so Omega Planetes is seriously the biggest thing added to Monster Hunter Wilds. It’s not just part of what looks like a huge collaboration event, but honestly, it’s one of the toughest monsters in the whole game, maybe *the* toughest. I’ve fought a lot of hard monsters, but Omega Planetes is on another level – it’s more difficult and visually impressive than things like Tempered Lagiacrus, Seregios, and even Gore Magala. It’s a real challenge!
