Okay, so the new Supergirl movie seems to be diving deep into a much grimmer backstory for Kara Zor-El. James Gunn has hinted that we’re going to see a very different origin story than Superman’s. While Superman had loving parents from the start, Kara apparently spent her first fourteen years on a fragment of Krypton, watching everything and everyone around her perish. It’s a much darker, more traumatic upbringing, and interestingly, this version of the story leans more into her original 1959 comic book roots, portraying her as a survivor of Argo City rather than Krypton itself. It’s a fascinating shift that promises a more complex and emotionally resonant character.

The new Super Mario Galaxy Movie has the same strengths and weaknesses as the first film. It includes a huge number of beloved characters from the Mario universe and Nintendo games, but often feels overcrowded and doesn’t develop them very deeply. The movie moves quickly through important story details and interesting relationships to make room for jokes and introduce more characters. However, fans who liked the original movie and simply want to see more of the Mario world will likely enjoy it and hope for another sequel.

For over forty years, Nintendo’s Mario has expanded beyond video games into books, comics, movies, and cartoons. The 2023 film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, made by Illumination and Universal, was popular despite receiving mixed reviews. The new film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, appears to be following a similar pattern, launching with even more negative initial reactions.

Things are about to get much bigger! Princess Rosalina is captured by Bowser Jr., and it’s up to Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to save her. This new adventure introduces a host of characters not seen in the first movie, including Rosalina, Yoshi, and Fox McCloud, creating a lively mix within Mario’s universe. While the results are mixed, the sequel expands the world with these fresh faces.

We were initially confused when we first heard about Eli Roth’s new movie. So many older horror films are being remade these days, we naturally assumed his project was a reimagining of the 1995 film Ice Cream Man. However, it turns out this Ice Cream Man will be a completely original story, and it’s scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 7th.

Ryan Gosling plays Dr. Ryland Grace, an astronaut who unexpectedly finds himself in a critical situation. He uses his intelligence and abilities to cope. While many sci-fi heroes have saved the day with their smarts – like the main character in Project Hail Mary – Dr. Grace is right up there with them.

As a horror fan, I’m always digging for hidden gems – shows that either never got the attention they deserved or were big hits a while back but have since faded into obscurity. It’s a shame, because these series are genuinely great, and I think even now, in 2026, they’re totally worth checking out. They’ve been overshadowed for too long!

Following a dip in his recent public image, many questioned the choice of Jared Leto to play Skeletor. Concerns grew after his performance in Tron: Ares received criticism. However, newly released clips from Masters of the Universe suggest the film is handling its villain in a promising way.

The 2018 film Aquaman was a major success for DC. Now, Jason Momoa is moving on from his role as Arthur Curry to play Lobo, a character he’s long been a fan of, in the upcoming Supergirl movie. We’ve gotten glimpses of Momoa as Lobo, and now we have a clearer look at the anti-hero and his part in the new film.

Season four is shaping up with exciting new cast members including Chloe Bennet (known from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Sandra Bernhard (The King of Comedy), and Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club). Joining them are Heather Graham (Boogie Nights, They Will Kill You), Rosie Perez (White Men Can’t Jump, The Flight Attendant), and Ben Schnetzer (The Madison). Like previous seasons, this one will be set in a new location – France – and will feature a few familiar faces to tie it all together. Filming will take place in Paris and at the beautiful Chateau de la Messardiere hotel in Saint-Tropez.
