Gandalf & Frodo’s Reunion Misses The Point Of The Lord Of The Rings

Even though the previous film faced criticism, Warner Bros. is still planning to release The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum in 2027. Having Andy Serkis direct and reprise his role, along with the potential return of other well-known actors, gives the project some confidence. However, it feels like the movie is being made more out of a desire to revisit familiar stories for profit than because there’s a genuine need for it.

Henry Cavill’s Night Hunter is an Underrated Thriller

I was completely gripped by Night Hunter! Detective Marshall is on the case of a really twisted serial killer, Simon, and the investigation starts with a shocking discovery – a young woman found in a truck, brutally injured. What I found so compelling, and similar to a film like Se7en, is that the story really unfolds from the killer’s perspective. The police, including Marshall, almost feel like they’re just being manipulated by Simon. It’s dark and disturbing, and even though it didn’t get great reviews – I think it’s definitely worth checking out.

RUMOR: James Gunn Claims His DC Studios Role Isn’t “Sustainable Long Term” — Will He Step Down?

As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited about James Gunn’s next project, Man of Tomorrow – the sequel to the recent Superman film. It’s only the third movie planned for the new DC Universe so far, which is still pretty early days. I recently read an interview with Gunn in Variety where he talked about how juggling being a director and a studio head feels a bit like being both Superman and Lex Luthor – a lot of pressure! He called it an “experiment,” and honestly, that worried some folks over at Cosmic Book News. They seem to think it means the plans for the DCU aren’t totally finalized, which, yeah, makes sense – things can always change!
