As a huge fan of the original, I’ve been hearing about a live-action Voltron movie for almost twenty years! It’s exciting to finally get some real news. Apparently, the new film will closely follow the story of Defender of the Universe, and even better, Henry Cavill is set to play King Alfur, the legendary warrior and former ruler of Altea. I’m really hoping they do the source material justice!
Robert Kirkman, the creator of the series, and Popverse report that a major story change saved the comic. What fans now consider a shocking twist – the betrayal of Omni-Man – wasn’t originally planned to happen so soon. The intention was to reveal it much later in the story, building suspense over several years.

Like previous films in the series, this one starts with a prologue: a couple of college students break into the house where the original movie’s characters died, and predictably receive the chilling phone call from the masked killer, challenging them to a deadly game. This leads to a brutal opening kill. Soon after, the town where Sidney lives begins to experience a new wave of murders, prompting a lockdown. Sidney and, more importantly, her daughter, quickly find themselves targeted by Ghostface.
As a longtime fan of Star Trek: Discovery, I was really surprised by Mary Wiseman’s limited role in the new Star Trek: Starfleet Academy series. We saw her character, Tilly, transfer to teach at the Academy back in season four of Discovery, so I expected her to be a regular face. Instead, she just appears as a guest star in a single episode of Starfleet Academy‘s first season. It’s a bit disappointing to see a character with so much potential sidelined like that.
DC and Warner Bros. Games released a new video called “The Joker, Clown Prince of the Museum.” The video closely recreates a famous scene from the 1989 film Batman, featuring Jack Nicholson as the Joker and his crew causing chaos in a Gotham City museum while Prince’s song “Partyman” plays in the background.
One of the best things about streaming is that movies can stay popular for much longer, giving hidden gems a chance to find an audience. I want to highlight five movies from the last decade that didn’t get the attention they deserved when they came out, but I believe will eventually be recognized as some of the best films of their time.
