The newest installment of Chainsaw Man, Chapter 231, which came out on March 10, 2026, shocked fans with a message revealing that the next chapter will be the last. While the story had been leading towards a conclusion in Part 2, the announcement still came as a surprise. Fans were especially taken aback because the series is known for taking unexpected turns. However, the way the story ended felt conclusive, suggesting there are no further chapters planned.
The recent chapter featured a conversation between Denji and Pochita, during which Pochita expressed his desire for Denji to continue living before sacrificing himself by eating his own heart. This act seemingly erased Pochita from existence. Because Pochita is essential for Denji’s transformation into Chainsaw Man, it appeared the series was ending. However, shortly after the chapter’s release, the announcement that the next issue would be the last was removed.
Chainsaw Man’s Latest Issue Removes the Statement About the Series Ending Soon

Okay, so things got really interesting with the latest Chainsaw Man chapter! At first, Chapter 231 said it was the “Final Chapter” on March 24th, which honestly, felt pretty definitive. But then, they quietly changed it to just “to be continued.” That’s huge! It makes me think the series isn’t actually ending, but instead, this part of the story is wrapping up. I’m guessing we’ll get a whole new part eventually! It’s a little confusing because the official Chainsaw Man X account still says the final chapter is coming on 3/24, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens!
The recent change to the statement was definitely intentional, and we’ll probably understand why after the next chapter comes out later this month. Right now, fans of Chainsaw Man are hoping that Tatsuki Fujimoto still has more stories planned for the series. Whether it continues with Denji or a brand new character, fans would be thrilled to see Chainsaw Man return, thanks to Fujimoto’s excellent storytelling over the past seven years. However, it feels like the series might be ending soon, and that’s what fans are hoping to avoid most of all.
