Channel 4 releases first look at new comedy series Make That Movie starring Last One Laughing favourite Sam Campbell

Channel 4 has released a sneak peek of its upcoming comedy, ‘Make That Movie,’ which stars Sam Campbell, known for his appearances on ‘Taskmaster’ and ‘Last One Laughing UK’.

This six-episode show, revealed in 2024, follows a successful director named Campbell as he travels the country searching for ordinary people with compelling movie ideas.

Sam and his team worked quickly to turn their idea into a movie, completing it in just three days.

Joining Campbell in the series are Lara Ricote, playing runner Jess; Aaron Chen as intimacy coordinator Sebastian; Helen Bauer as sound engineer Pat; and David Hargreaves as cinematographer Winnie. They all make up the film crew.

You know, I read what Campbell said, and it really resonated with me. He put it perfectly – it’s like one of those home makeover shows, but instead of gardens, they’re restoring the wonder of movies. And that’s something I think we all genuinely care about, isn’t it? That little bit of movie magic.

Charlie Perkins, Channel 4’s head of comedy, praised Sam, saying he perfectly represents the channel’s vibrant, inventive, and original approach to comedy. Perkins described Sam as incredibly talented and dedicated, making him the ideal leader for this new comedy collaboration, and predicted the project would be very enjoyable.

Next month, Channel 4 will broadcast “Make That Movie,” a new show created by Campbell and directed by Joe Pelling, who also co-created “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.”

Campbell first gained recognition in the UK by winning a major award at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Since then, he’s become a popular face on TV, appearing on shows like Taskmaster, Last One Laughing UK, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Would I Lie to You?, QI, and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

Campbell is bringing his Kid Giblet show to the UK and Ireland later this year, and you can still buy tickets on his website.

Make That Movie will air on Channel 4 next month.
