Pearl Abyss announced that Crimson Desert, its open-world game for PlayStation 5, has surpassed five million copies sold. This impressive number was reached in under a month since the game’s release on March 19th, 2026.
The game’s team thanked players, called ‘Greymane,’ for their support and for experiencing the world of Pywel. They celebrated a recent sales achievement, saying it wouldn’t have been possible without the players’ dedication and gratitude.
Since launching on PS5 almost a month ago, Pearl Abyss has been consistently improving the game based on what players are saying. They’ve already made many updates and plan to add even more in the coming months, including the ability to replay boss fights and adjust the game’s difficulty. Just this weekend, they released an update specifically to enhance the Greymane camp and offer more graphical settings.
Our review of Crimson Desert on PS5 gave it a 6 out of 10. We noted that while the game has potential and a compelling story, numerous technical problems currently detract from the experience. With further development, Pearl Abyss’ fantasy game could become something truly remarkable.
