There’s been a lot of talk about the next Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars. Now, Captain America has seemingly hinted at what might happen to his character – and it could be a major spoiler! Secret Wars is expected to be the biggest Marvel movie yet, potentially changing the entire future of the MCU, so this reveal is significant.
How did Chris Evans accidentally reveal Steve Rogers’ future? It happened during an Instagram Live session with @comicconmomsi, where he let slip that he’ll begin working on a new Marvel project in a few months. Given Steve Rogers’ history of returning to the MCU, it’s not a shock that he’s expected to survive the upcoming events and appear in Secret Wars.
It Doesn’t Undo What’s Already Been Set Up

The recent teaser for Doomsday, showing Steve Rogers riding a motorcycle and holding a baby who seems to be his son, was surprising. However, this appearance alone won’t ruin the story or Sam Wilson’s journey as the new Captain America. There are many ways Rogers could return, and it doesn’t have to be predictable. He might become Nomad, which seems like the most probable option, or even return as an evil version of Captain America connected to Hydra.
This means filming for Secret Wars will likely begin before post-production is finished on Doomsday. Essentially, the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe cast will be back on set before Doomsday even hits theaters. This situation is almost guaranteed to create a lot of leaks and rumors, similar to what we’ve already seen with the upcoming three MCU films – especially Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has generated plenty of speculation as its July release date gets closer.
