Chuck E. Cheese Mascot Arrested While on the Job in Florida

A Chuck E. Cheese employee has been arrested while dressed as the mouse character.

As a diligent follower recounting events from my perspective, on the 23rd of July, I found myself in the unwelcome company of law enforcement after being apprehended for an alleged crime that transpired a month prior. The incident involved the unauthorized use of a customer’s credit card, resulting in numerous transactions amounting to $105.57 across various purchases throughout July, as detailed in a police report acquired by TopMob News.

On June 28, when the debit card owner went to Chuck E. Cheese for her daughter’s birthday party, she later found suspicious charges from stores she hadn’t shopped at – such as 1Smoke Shop, Whataburger, Circle K, Time Saver, and other shops. The transactions were flagged. After visiting one of these locations to inspect a purchase, she claimed to have recognized the suspect as an employee from Chuck E. Cheese based on footage, according to the documents.

Following the dispatch, Officer Jarrett Cruz from the Tallahassee Police Department verified that Jones was at work at the children’s pizza parlor. He then moved towards the employee, who was dressed in a mouse costume.

As I neared Jones, I took hold of his right arm and said, ‘Chuck E, let’s go Chuck E,’ according to the report. Immediately, Jones began to stiffen, crossing both arms in front of his chest and trying to break free from my grasp on his arm.

According to the document, after the police officer told Jones he was under arrest, Cruz observed that the suspect was put into securely locked handcuffs twice and then led to his marked police vehicle by the officer.

Jones asserted he didn’t possess anyone else’s credit cards and claimed ignorance about transactions at a meat market or smoke shop. Upon police search, Jones disclosed finding a credit card that day and stated, “I never used it.” The investigation report claims that authorities discovered a receipt said to correspond with one of the suspected fraudulent purchases.

After my recent apprehension, I’ve been indicted for several serious offenses. These include felony charges related to credit card theft, unauthorized use of personal data like bank details, and the fraudulent utilization of a credit card on more than two occasions exceeding $100.00 each time.

Regarding the incident that went viral online, complete with images shared on social media, Chuck E. Cheese has taken steps to handle the issue within their organization.

On Wednesday, July 23rd, an incident occurred at our Tallahassee branch that resulted in a part-time employee being arrested. We’ve addressed this matter by taking the necessary actions regarding the employee involved.” (TopMob News was mentioned in the original statement, but it is assumed here that the reader knows where the information came from.)
