In the 2022 film Violent Night, Tommy Wirkola presented a surprisingly tough Santa Claus, powerfully portrayed by David Harbour. This Santa wasn’t just magical—he was skilled at taking down criminals, often with a festive flair. Now, a sequel, Violent Night 2, is on the way, bringing back Harbour as Santa, and recent previews at CinemaCon revealed Kristen Bell will be joining the cast as Mrs. Claus.
The preview for Violent Night 2 starts with a nod to the character “Big Nick” and quickly reveals the plot: Santa Claus has landed on his own Naughty list because he’s lost sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Despite this, he’s still ready to fight, and one scene shows him punching people with brass knuckles shaped like cookie cutters. We also get a first look at Kristen Bell playing Mrs. Claus, but she’s not the only new face appearing in the footage.
Violent Night 2 Still Seems Like A Bloody Holiday Adventure, But With A Twist

One of the most exciting new additions to the movie is Shelby Bell as Mrs. Claus, and fans are eager to see her and Joel Harbour together as the famous Christmas couple. Bell isn’t the only new cast member – professional wrestler MJF from AEW also appears in the film, and was featured in a preview shown at CinemaCon.
The sequel to Violent Night brings back David Harbour as the tough Santa, but it’s taking a different approach this time. The first movie drew inspiration from action films like Die Hard, while Violent Night 2 will be more influenced by classic Westerns – with the same R-rated intensity, of course.
Bringing Mrs. Claus into the story and having Santa rediscover the magic of Christmas opens the door for a really enjoyable sequel to a surprisingly successful film from 2022. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to see it in theaters.
Violent Night 2 releases in theaters on December 4, 2026.
