With a summer already full of blockbuster movies, Steven Spielberg’s new film, Disclosure Day, is generating a lot of excitement. It’s his first movie in four years and looks set to be one of the most original releases of the year. While a trailer debuted in March, attendees at CinemaCon in Las Vegas recently received another preview, and we’re sharing the details.
Normally, videos shown at CinemaCon aren’t released to the public, but ComicBook was there to see the first look at the highly anticipated alien conspiracy sci-fi film. Here’s a description of what they showed:
New Disclosure Day Footage Revealed at CinemaCon

Okay, so the film opens with this really unsettling moment – a bird flies right into a window, and we immediately cut to Emily Blunt’s character getting ready to do the weather. It quickly becomes clear something is very wrong, because she starts speaking in this bizarre, alien language – just like we saw in the first trailer. Then, Josh O’Connor’s character comes into play, revealing he’s been secretly filming things. He plays the footage on a TV, and it’s deeply disturbing – it shows people being carried on stretchers, but he insists they aren’t children, and won’t even confirm they’re human. It’s a seriously creepy setup, and it really grabs your attention.
After the events shown on TV, Colin Firth’s character begins looking for Emily Blunt’s. O’Connor realizes Blunt is explaining something complex, describing it as a mathematical concept. While traveling with Wyatt Russell’s character, Blunt calls Colman Domingo’s character and then Daniel (O’Connor), warning him the government is tracking him and intends to eliminate him. The story then returns to Firth, who explains he must find them because the truth is too difficult for people to grasp. Domingo reveals to O’Connor and Blunt that it has always been just the two of them, followed by a flashback suggesting they were both subjected to experiments as children, possibly by aliens. The scene culminates with the deer from the trailer watching a child on an examination table, which then transforms into the classic image of a gray alien with large, dark eyes.
Spielberg Teases Audiences Will Need a “Seatbelt” From Start to Finish
Even with the recent details revealed, many aspects of the upcoming film, Disclosure Day, remain mysterious. While the movie will confirm the existence of aliens, fans are curious about the timing of this revelation and its potential consequences, which they’ll discover when it’s released in June. At CinemaCon, director Spielberg hinted that the film is “more based on reality than imagination.” He also promised it will both answer questions and raise new ones, describing it as a thrilling “experience” – one where viewers might want to buckle up!
