Good news for animation fans! Warner Bros. is reportedly developing a new animated movie starring Speedy Gonzalez, the famously fast mouse from Mexico. Director Jorge R. GutiĆ©rrez will be at the helm. Details about the story and whoās writing the script are currently being kept secret. This isn’t the first attempt ā Warner Bros. previously started a Speedy Gonzalez movie in 2016 with Eugenio Derbez set to voice the character, but it was canceled due to concerns about potentially offensive content.

To be honest, there isn’t much news yet. Last month, director GutiĆ©rrez hinted at a new project on social media, posting a picture of himself with a Speedy Gonzales figurine and wearing clothes to match the character. He captioned the post, āAny guesses what movie I might be working on at Warner Bros. Animationā¦?ā The comments section exploded with excitement, with many fans saying a Speedy Gonzales movie was long overdue and that GutiĆ©rrez deserved the opportunity.
Jorge GutiĆ©rrez is the perfect choice to direct the new film. He’s a highly talented animator, writer, producer, and director ā well-known for creating El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and directing the critically acclaimed animated film The Book of Life.
