A beloved Nintendo Wii game from 2010 has just gotten an update! Nintendo has been bringing back some of its classic Wii titles in recent years, giving games like Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land a new life on the Switch. Now, a recent remaster of a popular Wii title has surprised fans with a brand new content drop.
Nintendo recently released a big update for Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. This updated version of the classic Donkey Kong Country Returns came to Switch last year, making the beloved platforming adventure easier to play. The free update, released almost a year after the game’s launch, includes several improvements.
This update to Donkey Kong Country Returns HD improves performance on the Nintendo Switch 2. You’ll notice better graphics and faster loading times compared to the original Switch version. Plus, the new GameShare feature lets players enjoy the game with friends, even if they don’t own a copy themselves.
Beyond the enhancements specifically for the Switch 2, Nintendo has introduced Dixie Kong as a new playable character in Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. A new mode called Turbo Attack, letting players speed through levels, is another key addition. These features are brand new to DKC Returns and are a welcome surprise, appearing more than 15 years after the game’s initial release on the Wii.
