Reports suggest that Capcom is planning a remake of the PlayStation 2 game Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and a full announcement with details is expected later this year.
Okay, so Dusk Golem – you know, the guy who’s usually right about horror game leaks – is saying we’re finally going to get a confirmation about a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica. He specifically said it’ll happen later this year, and it won’t be a Resident Evil 5 remake, which is great news for those of us who’ve been hoping for Code Veronica!
Sheva Alomar’s voice actor hinted at exciting news for Resident Evil’s 30th anniversary in March, sparking fan speculation. While some believe a remake of Resident Evil 5 is planned, insider Dusk Golem claims Code Veronica is the next game in line for a remake.
Rumors suggest that Resident Evil Zero is getting a remake, and VGC has confirmed this, along with news of a revamped Code Veronica. IGN previously reported similar information, supporting these claims.
For the last few years, Capcom has been releasing new Resident Evil games one year, and then remaking an older classic the next. Since a new Resident Evil game, Requiem, is coming out next month, it’s likely we’ll see a remake announced soon.
I’m so hyped! Resident Evil Requiem is finally coming to PS5 on February 27th, 2026, and it’s bringing back Leon – yes, the Leon! – for a new story. He’s heading back to Raccoon City, and this time he’s joined by a new character, Grace Ashcroft. But get this – it sounds like after we finish their adventure, Capcom is already hinting at a return to Rockfort Island! I can’t wait!
