Fans have been waiting two years, but the new season will finally start streaming on Apple TV+ next month. A new trailer has just been released, giving viewers a sneak peek at the return of Colin Farrell in the lead role.
Season 2 of Sugar is coming soon! The new season will have eight episodes, with the first episode premiering followed by weekly releases every Friday until August 7th. Colin Farrell Returns in Sugar Season 2
Season 2 of Sugar offers a fresh and modern twist on the classic detective story. Colin Farrell returns as John Sugar, the unique Los Angeles private investigator and film buff, still searching for his sister. This season, he takes on a new case: finding the missing brother of a promising young boxer. As the investigation unfolds, it reveals a dark conspiracy that spans the city, forcing Sugar to confront his own limits and decide how far he’ll go to achieve justice.
Season 2 of Sugar stars Colin Farrell and welcomes new cast members Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle, and Shea Whigham. Sam Catlin is the showrunner and executive producer through Short Drive Entertainment. Colin Farrell, Audrey Chon, Simon Kinberg, Scott Greenerg, and Chip Vucelich also serve as executive producers.
Sugar Has Drawn Praise From Critics
The film Sugar demonstrates that classic film noir atmosphere doesn’t always require heavy shadows and darkness. Despite deviating from the typical visual style, it still manages to capture the genre’s characteristic mood of cynicism and despair.
Sugar is with Season 2 set to premiere on June 19, 2026.
