Remember when buying a physical game meant you got a full printed manual as well?
When video games were at their most popular, the boxes often came with beautiful artwork, screenshots, helpful strategy guides, and extra content. These days, you’re often just happy to find the game itself on the disc.
A dedicated fan is making high-quality booklets to go with popular PlayStation 5 games, and his newest project is for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
Sandeep Rai, who goes by the online name 2 Old 4 Gaming, has long been a writer about PlayStation consoles, especially the PS Vita. Now, he’s creating high-quality inserts to add to the cases of your physical game copies.
I just picked up this cool little guide book from the creator’s website, called ‘Ghost of Yotei‘. It cost me about £5 (around $6.63), and honestly, it feels really good! It’s a 36-page manual, and the paper is super high-quality silk – it just feels premium, you know? Definitely a nice tactile experience.
This booklet provides helpful information about how to play the game, including the controls. It also features artwork, screenshots, and other extras, and is perfectly sized to fit inside the game’s Blu-ray case.
Obviously, this is all non-essential, but it’s nice to see someone filling this niche.
It’s unfortunate Rai has to take on a task traditionally handled by game publishers, but if you collect games and would like to have the instruction manual, his website is a good place to check.
