Recent leaks suggest Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind games like Alan Wake 2, may soon reveal details about Control 2, the sequel to their popular game Control. Remedy has been openly working on the sequel for some time, even while collaborating with Rockstar Games on remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2. It appears the studio is gearing up to officially announce more information about the new Control game in the near future.
Remedy Entertainment recently trademarked the name “Control: Resonant” in Europe. While details are scarce, the filing came directly from Remedy, making it a very official announcement. Most likely, this is the new title for the Control sequel, though it could potentially be for a different project altogether.

Beyond being a video game, Remedy announced last year they were working with Annapurna Interactive on TV and film adaptations of Control and Alan Wake. Details have been scarce since then, leaving fans eager for updates. Now, Control: Resonant might be the first project to emerge from this partnership.
What really points to Control: Resonant not being Control 2 is that Remedy has consistently referred to the sequel as Control 2 in official materials. They even have a dedicated webpage for Control 2 that uses the name repeatedly. This strongly suggests Control 2 is the finalized title for the sequel, and Resonant will be something different altogether.
Right now, we have more questions than answers about Control: Resonant and what this trademark actually means. Hopefully, Remedy will share more details with its eager fans soon.
