Remedy Entertainment often takes creative risks with its games, so their recent statements about the new Control expansion, Resonant, aren’t unexpected.
The next installment in the Control series was revealed at the 2025 Game Awards. This time, the story will center on Jesse Faden’s brother, Dylan, as he ventures out from the Oldest House while strange, supernatural events unfold.
Remedy is clearly pushing boundaries with its new project. The team recently shared some encouraging details about their ambitious goals for Resonant.
The team behind CONTROL Resonant set out to create their largest and most ambitious game yet. They weren’t interested in playing it safe with a typical sequel. After seven years, they wanted to truly push their creative limits and deliver something special for their fans.
From what we’ve learned, you’ll be playing as Jesse’s brother, who was held within the Oldest House in the first game.
Unlike the first game, this one lets you venture beyond the Bureau’s headquarters and explore the city. It will also emphasize close-quarters fighting over shooting.
Remedy Entertainment is known for taking risks with its games, so we didn’t anticipate a cautious approach with their new project, Resonant. In fact, it seems they’re being ambitious, and after the success of Alan Wake 2, we’re really looking forward to seeing what they create.
