Things were tense on Coronation Street this week as the mystery surrounding the recent murder really started to unfold.
The episode began with Carla and Lisa Connor-Swain (Alison King and Vicky Myers) enjoying their wedding day, starting with celebrations at the Underworld factory. The story then shifted to the corner shop flat.
I remember a strange moment on set – a figure appeared on the scaffolding, looking in at the windows. It turned out to be Theo Silverton, played by James Cartwright, and knowing his character’s dark side, it instantly felt ominous.
Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) was getting ready for a trip to Thailand, hoping to get away from whoever was bothering him. He was packing when a window broke, making him realize he wasn’t alone and might be in danger.
Todd felt relieved when he saw children walking by, assuming they’d caused the noise. He didn’t know that Theo was actually inside, hiding in the wardrobe.

A major fight broke out when Theo grabbed a bowl from the kitchen and tried to attack Todd. George Shuttleworth rushed in and stopped them from fighting, but quickly understood that Theo wasn’t willing to back down.
George pretended to have a leg cramp to create a distraction, pulling Theo towards the bathroom. Meanwhile, Todd quickly tied a dressing gown cord around the door handle to keep him inside. The two men then rushed outside and told Detective Constable Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) about what was happening.

While George was leading Todd to safety at address number 11, he reached out to their coworkers, giving them a chance to say goodbye. It was clear that George and Todd had a very close relationship, like a father and son.
At Todd’s urging, George went back to the Rovers to finish his lunch with Christina Boyd and Summer Spellman. Meanwhile, Gary Windass decided to get revenge, damaging Theo’s van and sending him a threatening text message.

George quickly learned that Kit hadn’t been able to find Theo. It became clear Theo had escaped – he’d jumped out of a window before anyone could stop him.
As night fell and the streets darkened, Todd got into a taxi heading to the airport. But he quickly realized he’d left his phone at his apartment, which meant he had to briefly ask the driver to wait while he went back to get it, delaying the start of his trip.
In the middle of Victoria Street, Theo stood holding the device.
Will Todd be able to outrun him?
