Summer Spellman, played by Harriet Bibby, has reacted to the shocking proposal Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) made about her late father, Billy, on Coronation Street.
Daniel Brocklebank finished playing the vicar after eleven years during a special episode that also featured the show Emmerdale in January. His character, Billy, died in a car crash while driving a minibus home from Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) wedding.
Stuck in the driver’s seat, he started to get free, but Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) quickly re-buckled the seatbelt, trapping him inside. Billy was the only one who knew Theo was abusing his husband, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), and he panicked, fearing the secret would be revealed.
After everything that happened, Theo confessed his feelings of guilt about Billy’s funeral – not knowing that Carl was overhearing him from the other side of the wall.
Theo and Carl had a heated argument, during which Theo threatened Carl, implying he’d suffer the same fate as Billy if he talked. Carl recently realized he could make money by sharing information with Billy’s family and friends.

He pressured Summer, who was mourning her father, to suspect people she knew when trying to figure out who was responsible for his death. He also recently proposed to ruin Theo if someone paid him £10,000.
His mother, Debbie (Sue Devaney), was deeply upset by his manipulative behavior and kicked him out, not knowing that Summer was already thinking about accepting his offer.
Today on the show, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) went with Todd to his flat to collect his things. As soon as they arrived, a delivery arrived, and the doorbell startled Todd.

He was fearful that Theo had returned, and rushed out in tears.
George was surrounded by Christina Boyd, Mary Taylor, and Summer. When Summer hugged him, she was surprised by how weak and in pain he seemed.
Realizing she needed to take action, she met Carl in the alleyway and offered him the money if he could ensure Theo was arrested.
Will he succeed in bringing down Theo?
