Fans of classic soap operas are in for a treat! Two beloved stars will appear together in a new drama called Number One Fan, coming soon to the Channel 5 network. We’re excited to share an exclusive first look at the trailer for the series.
This show takes place behind the scenes of a morning TV program. It features Jill Halfpenny, known from EastEnders, as presenter Lucy Logan, and Sally Lindsay, famous for her role in Coronation Street, as Donna, a dedicated but somewhat overzealous fan.
The trailer opens with Lucy ending a broadcast, saying, “That’s all for today, and thank you from the bottom of my heart. The show wouldn’t exist without you.” You can watch the trailer below.
The scene shifts to Donna excitedly greeting her, saying, “Oh my gosh, it’s really you! I watch Lucy Logan Live every single day – I’m your biggest fan!”
Lucy quickly invited her to the studio to observe a recording session, but it wasn’t long before she admitted she was becoming uneasy with Donna – a reaction that wasn’t shocking, considering Donna had started leaving messages written in lipstick on her mirror.
It seems Donna isn’t the simple fan she appeared to be. After Lucy reveals Donna is constantly following her, Donna threatens to expose Lucy’s true identity to the world.
Donna has a video of Lucy that could seriously damage Lucy’s reputation and likely end her career if it becomes public.
Towards the end of the trailer, Lucy delivers a stark warning to her attacker: if they harm her or her family, she will kill them herself.

The new four-episode series centers around Lucy, a beloved morning show host played by Jill Halfpenny, who presents the popular program ‘Lucy Live’.
She’s refreshingly honest, always delivering the truth with a cheerful demeanor. She’s driven and dedicated, but underneath that positive exterior lies a fiercely competitive spirit.
Sally Lindsay plays Donna, a seemingly harmless and unassuming fan who unexpectedly rescues Lucy from a brutal attack. However, Lucy’s thankfulness soon turns to fear as Donna’s admiration becomes a dangerous obsession, impacting every aspect of Lucy’s life – her work, family, and relationships.
Lucy is shocked to discover that Donna is connected to a secret from her past, one that could ruin everything she’s worked for.
When the cast was first revealed in January, executive producer Mike Benson explained that they had worked with both Sally and Jill many times before, but never on the same project.
Audiences will be just as thrilled as we are to see these two actors together, playing completely unexpected characters.
Both actors have worked with Channel 5 on several dramas before. Halfpenny has been in shows like The Drowning, The Cuckoo, and The Flood, while Lindsay has appeared in The Madame Blanc Mysteries and Love Rat.
