A beloved character from Coronation Street will continue to appear on the show for another year, bringing more drama to the famous street.
Alan Halsall, known for playing Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap since 1998, is said to have agreed to a major storyline for his character.
The character first appeared with his adoptive mother, Jackie, but quickly became like a son to Jack and Vera Duckworth.

The 50th anniversary celebrations were a turning point for Tyrone, as it was then that his wife Molly’s affair with his business partner, Kevin, came to light. He also discovered he wasn’t the father of their child.
Recent storylines have focused on Tyrone discovering his birth mother, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), and meeting his difficult grandmother, Evelyn (Dame Maureen Lipman). He’s also become a father through an affair and suffered a serious spinal injury after being hit by a car.
Following the recent event, he now uses a wheelchair to get around. His wife, Fiz, is managing both his care and their three children.
She recently checked into the Chariot Square Hotel, pretending to visit her sick mother, Cilla Battersby-Brown (Wendi Peters), in Wolverhampton, as a way to take a break.
According to The Sun, actor Alan Halsall has renewed his contract with the soap opera for at least one more year. An insider suggests exciting storylines are planned for his character, Tyrone, in the coming year.

Little does Ty realise, his accident was caused by Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).
I’m completely shocked by everything that’s happening with Kevin’s family. His brother is really causing trouble, exploiting Debbie’s dementia for his own purposes. To make things even worse, he’s gotten involved with Kevin’s sister-in-law, Abi, and I just found out he’s been secretly having an affair with their neighbor, James. It’s a total mess!
As this is Weatherfield, things tend not to stay secret for long!
Could Tyrone by the one who brings Carl down?
