Heads up! There might be some light spoilers for today’s episode (16th July) of Coronation Street streaming on ITVX. Enjoy the show!
In this week’s Coronation Street episode on the 16th of July, 2025, we’ll learn more about Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts.
After being brutally attacked by a long-standing adversary, Mick Michaelis (played by Joe Layton), Kit found himself fighting for survival as he was urgently taken to the hospital.
As the police apprehended fugitive Mick, they managed to outsmart him due to the palpable fear on his daughter Joanie’s (Savanna Pennington) face as he spread terror, the family of Kit grew increasingly anxious.
Following the siege, Kit’s mother Bernie Winter (played by Jane Hazlegrove), sister Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell), and partner Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) remained by his side in the days that followed.

However, right when things seem to be looking up for Kit, his condition unexpectedly worsens, requiring urgent lifesaving operation.
It’s a tense wait at the hospital as doctors try to save his life.
Additionally, Bernie seeks out Brody (Ryan Mulvey), the recently discovered son of Kit, who was involved in Mick’s escape scheme. However, he has been out of sight since then.
Where is Brody, and will Kit pull through?
You’ll have to tune in now on ITVX to find out, or watch Coronation Street on ITV1 at 8pm.
However, it’s not just Kit who endures hardship following Mick’s actions; young Sam Blakeman (portrayed by Jude Riordan) also struggles, having been abandoned at the school and forced to cope on his own.
It was actually Lily Platt, now portrayed by Grace Ashcroft-Gardner, who found herself in a tricky situation and locked Sam out of a classroom as she avoided Mick. Later on, Nick Tilsley, played by Ben Price, confronted David Platt, portrayed by Jack P Shepherd, regarding this incident.
What will Lily have to say about her behaviour?
