Pearl Abyss, the developer of Crimson Desert, has announced a major update that fans have been requesting since the game’s release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The game has received fantastic post-launch support – surprisingly even better than many online, constantly-updated games. Pearl Abyss has consistently delivered updates with bug fixes, improvements, and new content. Importantly, these updates demonstrate the studio is actively listening to player feedback and adding features the community has specifically asked for.
We’re releasing a new update in the next few days that includes a highly requested feature: extraction. This will allow players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X to get back some of the materials they use to upgrade their gear. While it’s a relatively small addition, the community on the Crimson Desert Reddit page is very excited about it.
“Huge”
People are really happy about getting back items they’re no longer using, with one fan calling it “huge.” Another described the process of retrieving those items as “majestic.”
Another fan enthusiastically agreed, saying the developers consistently deliver what players want most. They praised the team member responsible for prioritizing features, suggesting they deserve a raise. The fan was especially happy about the new ability to salvage materials from weapons, as it allows them to fully upgrade their equipment.
The post announcing the update has received over 600 comments, and most of them are about this new feature. Many commenters are also praising the game’s supportive community.
One fan stated, “Pearl Abyss definitely deserves the ‘Best Community Support’ award this year.”
We don’t have a firm release date for the update yet, but we’re expecting it to launch between Sunday and Tuesday. The update will include new special mounts, which players are really looking forward to – though we don’t know exactly what those mounts will be just yet.
