Honestly, Crimson Desert has a lot of problems, and that’s putting it mildly. Pearl Abyss is trying to fix things, which is good, but it was a real shock to see that the game wouldn’t even start for people with Intel ARC graphics cards. It was a frustrating experience for those players, to say the least!
It wasn’t the manufacturer’s fault, but they shared with WCCF Tech that they’d contacted Pearl Abyss repeatedly over the last few years. Thankfully, player requests have been heard, and the developer has now confirmed in its FAQs that Crimson Desert is playable on Intel ARC GPUs.
However, the game is still being optimized, so players might experience some performance issues or instability depending on their computer setup. Pearl Abyss promises to keep working on improvements and compatibility through future updates, and they’re committed to releasing fixes quickly, especially now that the game has sold over two million copies.
The game still has some problems, particularly with complicated controls, especially when playing on consoles. The user interface could also be improved, and it’s surprising that there aren’t permanent mounts available (and the dragon’s long recharge time is frustrating!). It’s unclear how Pearl Abyss will fix these issues, so we’ll keep you updated.
Crimson Desert is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can read our review – where we gave it an 8/10 – to find out what we enjoyed and didn’t enjoy about the game.
