A character from the game Cronos: The New Dawn is appearing in Fortnite, but the developers at Bloober Team hint they have more planned for their own sci-fi horror game. They shared a cryptic message on Twitter – “Scanning for fault signature… Engaging pursuit protocol…” – along with a picture of the Traveler, suggesting the game’s central mystery, ‘the loop,’ is still ongoing.
The second tweet hinted at ongoing mysteries, saying, “The mystery remains unsolved… The future holds more answers,” and included an eye emoji. A picture with “LZRS 28” suggests a connection to a puzzling door featured in the game’s ending. This could mean the game is getting downloadable content that continues the story.
It’s noteworthy that Bloober Team has stated they aren’t planning a sequel to Cronos and are already working on a new game. Considering the game has sold a solid 500,000 copies as of November 2025, it seems unlikely we’ll see a continuation of the Cronos story, even with the recent update adding the challenging Temporal Diver difficulty.
Okay, so Bloober Team is growing – they’ve announced a bigger leadership team and they’re working on seven games right now! Five of those are under a new label called Black Mirror Games. It makes me wonder if a different team within Bloober is handling this particular project. We’ll have to wait and see, but it sounds like we won’t be waiting long for more news, which is awesome!
You can now play Cronos: The New Dawn on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Read our full review to learn more!
